We are world leaders in the manufacture of high-performance carbide cutting tools for the automotive industry

Our Infinite Possibilities programme for tooling meets and exceeds the demands of your automotive manufacturing and production requirements.

We work with manufacturers and through our Quicklab R&D to meet and exceed the demands of the automotive industry.

The global automobile industry is undergoing a substantial transformation as a result of a variety of causes. Digitalisation, sustainability and climate change, fast improvements in engineering, research, and manufacturing technologies, consumer and corporate behaviours and expectations, transportation patterns, health and pollution concerns, and the COVID-19 pandemic are all driving opportunities and challenges.

Many OEMs will rely on their existing, well-developed methods of making materials more lightweight. Lighter cars have lower pollutants, need less energy to run, have longer ranges, and so on, allowing OEMs to face future problems. However, lightweight materials with equivalent qualities to steel can be over four thousand times more expensive, making them uneconomical for mass vehicle manufacture.

This reality implies that engineers and scientists must continue investigating how lightweight materials may be incorporated into goods and activities, such as manufacturing technologies and automobiles, while maintaining a balance of safety, cost, value, and usability.

Automotive Components

Instrument Panels

ABS, ABS/polycarbonate alloys, polycarbonates, polypropylene, modified polyphenylene ether (PPE), and SMA (styrene-maleic anhydride) resins are commonly used in instrument panels.

These polymers enable sophisticated designs in things like airbag housings, instrument panel centre stacks, and big, integrated instrument panel parts. Quickgrind has several appropriate ranges for these materials, including the Zodiac, Gladiator, QBall, QVari CR, and QAlu CR ranges.

Other Components

There are a variety of other components integral to the automotive industry.

Turbo chargers, typically made of aluminium alloys, may be tooled with Quickgrind’s Orbis, Jaguar Drills, Lion Drills, Tiger Drills, Step Reamers, and Step Drills.

Brake calipers, made of ductile iron, may be tooled with Quickgrind’s Cougar TF Drills, Tiger ATC & AD Drills, and Jaguar Drills.

Covers, made of ductile iron and aluminium alloys, may be tooled with Quickgrind’s Cougar TF Drills, Tiger ATC & AD Drills, and Jaguar Drills.

Stamping dies for body parts are constructed of hardened tools steels. Quickgrind’s Gladiator, Bulldog, QCut, QPlus, QPlus 2, QPlus L/S, QBall, QVari, QVari CR, and QVari L/R are suited to tooling on these metals.

Quickgrind technical team

Not just any job, but your job is achieved by applying the right technology and tooling. We do this by optimising metal removal rates and durability using the latest technology and tooling for the application. Our goal is to become your tooling provider by assisting you in increasing productivity.

We pride ourselves on offering virtually any tool in size, diameter, radius, or reach. Our process often involves producing tools specific to your needs at costs similar to what you will be paying for standard tooling. This technique has been so effective that it has been dubbed ‘Infinite Possibilities,’ It has now been expanded to encompass a variety of complementary services, such as remanufacture and inventory control, as part of our ‘Total Solution Engineering’ program.

This section introduces you to our core tooling products, but it doesn’t include tables with tool sizes and dimensions. That’s because we can give you what you want, virtually any size in any range – all you have to do is ask.

Over fifty years of tooling excellence

We constantly push the boundaries of tooling innovation to provide the best tooling for your project.
