HEXAGON’s EDGECAM customers are supplying into TIER 1 and TIER 2 customers in the aerospace industry. During the manufacturing process our customers facing different challenges such as surface finish and long cycle times. With this project with QUICKGRIND we were testing new capabilities such as the parametric tool definitions in EDGECAM 2024.1 for tangential-, taper barrel cutters and lens cutters to make sure our common customers are benefit on surface finish improvements and cycle time reduction. We were also testing some of our new 5 axis cycles and 3 axis Waveform improvements. EDGECAMs intelligent WAVEFORM strategy will detect weakening material and provide tool break prevention with adjusting the speeds and feeds for those critical areas. It is a really great opportunity for us to work with cutting tool manufacturer such as Quick Grind providing help and support to make sure we feedback to our developers to improve and keep our high feed roughing solution best in the market.
